Genealogy
researchers now have another tool to use for finding those elusive
records and ancestors. Ancestry.com has been added to computer
databases in the InfoTrac. While Ancestry.com's site can be accessed
from any internet computer in the libary, it cannot be accessed
from home. Ancestry.com has the following available: U.S. and
Canadian Census indexes, obituaries, marriage, birth and death
records, genealogical magazine indexes and much more.
Another
new addition to genealogical research is the complete catalog of
the U.S. Census and other government records on microfilm. Now you
can research the catalog to locate the microfilm roll needed and
order it to be sent to our library through the interloan system.
There is no charge for this service. See the reference librarian
at the information desk at the library, or call 810-229-6571 for
further information.

Gloria Osborne is the librarian in charge of the Brighton Room collection. Feel
free to contact her with specific questions about the scope of the collection
and using the resources. She may be contacted by phone at 810-229-6571, ext 217
or by e-mail at gosborne@brightonlibrary.info.
