Who can be a Junior Volunteer?

  • Kids from ages 11-15

What could I possibly do as a Junior Volunteer?

  • Hand out and explain Summer Reading Program materials
  • Help with children's programs
  • Prepare craft materials
  • Help set up and clean up program areas
  • Participate in the Teen Advisory Board

How can I become a Junior Volunteer?

  • Fill out a Junior Volunteer online application form or a print form (available at the Brighton library) and drop it off at the circulation desk. You also must attend an orientation session. Indicate which orientation session you can attend on the application form.

Why? What will I get out of this?

  • Training
  • Valuable job experience
  • An opportunity to meet new people
  • Knowing I am promoting reading and literacy in my community
  • Volunteering will look great on my resume

When do I start?

  • Summer Reading Progam is a good opportunity for volunteering.
  • If you are interested in volunteering during the school year, contact us in August.
  • Depending on your schedule, you will be assigned between 1-3 hours per week.
